RESOLUTION NO. 87—t�
A RESOLUTION OF THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL RATIFYING A POLICE SCHOOL RESOURCE:
G, OFFICER PROGRAM CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF TIGARD AND THE TIGARD SCHOOL",
DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, Tigard and the Tigard School District desire to continue a
cuoperative effort in: providing a positive image of law enforcement in the
School District; interdicting narcotics trafficking in the School District;
providing informal counseling for troubled students; creating an atmosphere of
safety and security on district campuses; and enforcing criminal statutes
through arrest and investigations.
WHEREAS, the Tigard Police Department and the City Council believe that
participating in this program is a key to providing a school atmosphere
conducive to the education process and reducing juvenile criminal. activity.
NOW, THEREFORE, B:: IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
Section 1. -The Tigard Police Department and the Tigard School District
jointly operate a School Resource Officer Program as detailed
in the School Resource Officer Contract which is attached and
referenced as Exhibit "A".
Section 2. The Mayor, and City Recorder are hereby authorized to sign the
School Resource Officer- Contract on behalf of the City of
Tigard and the Recorder is further directed to file a copy of
said contract with the 'Tigard School District.
