RESOLUTION NO. 87-GI61 -
A RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING MELVIN WALKER FOR
DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF TIGARD
WHEREAS, Mel Walker has served the citizens of Tigard
since August 3, 1981 in the capacity of Utility Worker I; and,
WHEREAS, Mel Walker persevered in his attention and care
of Cook Park despite budget containments in years fraught with -
tension and stress; and,
WHEREAS, Mel Walker has continued this same high quality
service throughout his years with Tigard; and,
WHEREAS, the Tigard City Council wishes to publicly
recognize Mel Walker for his devotion to duty.
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL that they wish
to express, in behalf of the entire community, appreciation and
indebtedness to Mel Walker by proclaiming that a living tree of
his choosing is to be planted in Cook Park in his honor.
