Resolution No. 86-80 CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON
RESOLUTION NO. 86--_20
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE ANNEXATION OF THE METZGER NEIGHBORHOOD,
WITH CERTAIN EXCEPTIONS, TO THE CITY OF TIGARD.
WHEREAS, the City of Tigard and the City of Beaverton have entered
into an Annexation Planning Area Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the proposed annexation of Metzger Neighborhood,Boundary
Commission No. 2260, to the City of Tigard, crosses over the
mutually agreed upon annexation boundary for the cities of Beaverton
and Tigard; and
WHEREAS, representatives of Washington Square have approached the
City of Tigard to discuss contract annexation implemented by
triple majority annexation; and
WHEREAS, the City of Beaverton has adopted a resolution supporting
the annexation to Tigard of the Metgzer Neighborhood south of the
APAA line and has further requested that the City of Tigard join
in this resolution;
NOW, THELLFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
1. The City will now terminate the contract annexation
discussions with the representatives of Washington Square and
declare its support for the proposed Metzger Neighborhood annexa-
tion, Boundary Commission No. 2260.
2. The City reaffirms the APAA agreement and the boundary
line adopted in that agreement.
The Council hereby orders that the City Recorder file a copy of
this Resolution with the Portland Metropolitan Area Government
Boundary Commission at once.
