RESOLUTION NO. 84-,S7
RESOLUTION OF THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN
INTERGOVERNMENTAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH WASHINGTON COUNTY.
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the City to provide decent housing and a suitable
living environment and expand economic opportunities principally for persons
of low and moderate income; and
WHEREAS. the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 and Housing and
Urban - Rural Recovery Act of 1983 were enacted to provide for the support of
community development activities to assist local jurisdictions, and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Tigard to take part in Washington
County's Community Development Block Grant Program by entering into a
Cooperative Agreement with the County to operate a program aimed at meeting
the intent of the Housing and Community Development Act.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
I. The Cooperation Agreement between the City and Washington County
Is hereby approved.
2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said Cooperative
Agreement in triplicate.
3. The resolution shall take effect immediately.
