CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON'
RESOLUTION NO. $4— , 4
A RESOLUTION OF THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL ENDORSING THE PUGET CORPORATION OF
OREGON'S APPLICATION FOR APPROVAL FROM THE STATE OF OREGON ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT TO ISSUE INDUSTRIAL REVENUE BONDS.
WHEREAS, the Tigard City Council finch that the expansion of the Puget
Corporation of Oregon at its present location of 7440 SW Bonita Road on Tigard
would foster economic growth in compliance with the City. of Tigard's adopted
Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Economy Element of the Comprehensive Plan contains an action plan
which includes goal 5.1.1 which reads "The City shall promote activities aimed
at the diversification of the economic opportunities available to Tigard
residents with particular emphasis placed on the growth of the local job
market" , and
WHEREAS, the Tigard City Council has created an Economic Development Committee
to assist the City in developing and implementing an economic development
program; and
WHEREAS, The Committee hopes to assist in creating and maintaining new developind
continuous employment opportunities in the City while improving,
and stabilizing the economic base; and
WHEREAS, the proposed expansion of Puget Corporation Of Oregon would add
24,000 squt_re feet of building space to a firm which has been doing business
in Tigard for over fifteen years; and
WHEREAS, the expansion will create seventeen new employment opportunities and
have a positive impact on Tigard's economy; and
WHEREAS, in order that Puget Corporation of Oregon may file an application to
issue Industrial Revenue Bonds the Tigard City Council must find that the
project is in compliance with the City of Tigard's economic development plan;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed expansion of Puget
Corporation of Oregon in Tigard is in compliance with the adopted economy
element of the Comprehensive Plan and the adopted purpose of the Economic
Development Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED that the Cicy of Tigard
