RESOLUTION NOR4-^7
A RESOLUTION OBJECTING TO PUBLIC UTILITY COMMISSION'S APPROVAL OF GENERAL
TELEPHONE'S EXTENDED AREA SURCHARGE TO WILSONVILLE/CHARBONNEAU.
WHEREAS, the PUC granted a request by GTE per request of the citizens of the
Charbonneau District of the City of Wilsonville for extended area service; and
WHEREAS, the cost per household in the City of Tigard is greater than the
monthly equivalent tax cost of a Civic Center bond, yet the citizen's of
Tigard had no voice in the PUC decision; and
WHEREAS, the benefit is to the citizens of Wilsonville/Charbonneau and not the
citizens of Tigard; and
WHEREAS, Wilsonville/Charbonneau is in Clackamas County, and yet Tigard
citizens in Washington County still cannot call their County Seat in Hillsboro
except by long distance.
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Tigard hereby opposes charging the citi?ens of
Tigard for extended area service to Wilsonville/Charbonneau.
