RESOLUTION NO. 83- Q'7
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE LOCATION OF A FULL SERVICE TRANSFER STATION IN
WASHINGTON COUNTY.
WHEREAS, over the past year a committee (Washington County Transfer
Station Committee) composed of local government official representatives has
been meeting to evaluate the need for a transfer station in Washington County;.
and
WHEREAS, any new land fill located in Washington County; in all
likelyhood, would be located in a rural-agricultural area, and state law
limits such a landfillto accepting only material from a transfer station;
and
WHEREAS, an exhaustive landfill siting study has not resulted in
selection of a site in Washington County; and
WHEREAS, the Washington County Transfer Station Committee has noted
without dissent to recommend location of both a landfill site and a transfer
station in Washington County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

The Tigard City Council goes on record as supporting the location of a full
service transfer station in Washington County.
