RESOLUTION NO. 83-��
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE OREGON STATE SPEED CONTROL BOARD TO INITIATE AN
INVESTIGATION TO ESTABLISH A POSTED SPEED ZONE(S) ON S.W. HAMPTON STREET
WHEREAS, S. W. Hampton Street between S. W. 72nd Avenue and S. W.
66th Avenue lies within the City of Tigard, Oregon; and
WHEREAS, said roadway is presently under the jurisdiction of the
City of Tigard for operational and maintenance purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tigard, Oregon, aware on
account of its members direct contact with traffic in the area and, in
addition, having had the recommendation of its Chief of Police and Director of
Public Works, is of the opinion that the roadway merits a detailed speed zone
traffic investigation; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of ORS 487.90 of the State Speed
Control Board may make such detailed investigation, to designate a reasonable
and safe speed, if requested by a local authority;
NOW, THEREFORE, TT IS HEREBY RESOLVED:
Section 1: The City Council of the City of Tigard, Oregon,
hereby requests the Oregon State Speed Control Board to consider and to make
an investigation with respect to designating speed(s) on the roadway in
question.
Section_2: The City Council of the City of Tigard, Oregon,
directs that this resolution is to be forwarded to the Oregon State Speed
Control Board, by the City Recorder, immediately upon passage.
