CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON
RESOLUTION No. 82--4f!7-
A RESOLUTION OF THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL SUPPORTING THE CIVIC CENTER
PROJECT.
WHEREAS, The Tigard Civic Center Committee has studied the issue of
building a civic center complex completely and has done an excellent job;
and
WHEREAS, the Tigard City Council wants to go on record as supporting
the Civic Center proposal which is being sent to the citizenry for a vote
at the June 29, 1982 special election; and
WHEREAS, The Tigard City Council sent the Civic Center proposal to
the voters of the City of Tigard to offer them an opportunity to support
the concept; and
WHEREAS, The purpose of the construction of a Civic Center is for the
enhancement and betterment of the community and is not designed for the
personal credit of any group or individual.
�y+ NOW, THEREFORE,
THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL HEREBY RESOLVES THAT:
SECTION 1: The Council wishes to express their support of the Civic
Center project and encourages an affirmative vote by the
citizenry of Tigard since the purpose of the Center is for
the enhancement and betterment of the community.
SECTION 2: The Council declares that any plaques or cornerstones located
at the Center shall be dedicated to the citizens of the City
of Tigard with no reference to any individuals or groups in
particular.
