RESOLUTION No. �- G
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING ACTION BY THE WASHINGTON COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
TO INITIATE AN INVESTIGATION FOR RECONSIDERATION OF THE POSTED SPEED ZONE(S) ON S.W.
DURHAM ROAD.
' WHEREAS, S.W. Durham Road (between S.W. Pacific Highway and S.W. Upper Boones
Sat Ferry Road) lies within both the City of Tigard and Washington Couni:y; and
WHE..EAS, said roadway is presently under the jurisdiction of Washington County,
and the State of Oeegon, for operational and maintenance purposes; and
x' WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tigard, Oregon, aware on account of its
members direct contact with traffic in the area and, in addition, having had the recom-
mendation of its Chief of Police and Director of Public Workn, is of the opinion that
the roadway merits a detailed speed zone traffic investigation: and

WHEREAS, under the provisions of ORS 487.90 the State Speed Control Board may
make such detailed investigation, to designate a reasonable and safe speed, if requested
by a local authority;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Tigard, Oregon, hereby expresses the desire
<' and recommendation that the Washington County Board of County Connnissioners
initiate an investigation for reconsideration of the designated speed(s) on
the roadway in question.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Tigard, Oregon, hereby requests the Oregon
s State Speed Control Board to consider the aforesaid and to make an investi-
gation with respect to designating speed(s) on the roadway in question.

SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Tigard, Oregon, directs that this resolution
is to be forwarded to the Washington County Board of County Commissioners and
to the Oregon State Speed Control Board, by the City Recorder, immediately
upon passage.
