RESOLUTION No. 81- ///
A RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING ALDACE (ALDIE) HOWARD FOR HIS 4 YEARS OF
DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF TIGARD.
WHEREAS, Aldie Howard has served the citizens of Tigard in the capacity
of Administrative Assistant since September, 1977 and Planning Director since
January 1, 1979; and
WHEREAS, Aldie Howard has exercised innovative concepts which has earned
him the respect and plaudits of his peers; and
WHEREAS, Aldie Howard has been instrumental in successfully guiding the
City's development during his four years of dedicated service; a period which
has been fraught with challenge and change as the community has grown from a
population of 11,114 to 14,690; and
WHEREAS, Aldie Howard has, during that period, given unselfishly of his
time and talents to the benefit of the entire community; and
WHEREAS, Aldie Howard has, in a forthright manner, set the pace for an
aggressive, durable and persistent land use plan which will grow with the
City and remain a viable basis upon which to build for years to come; and
WHEREAS, the Tigard City Council recognizes that such dedicated
community service cannot be compensated for but wishes to record the City's
appreciation to Aldie Howard for his dedicated service to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL THAT they wish to express,
in behalf of the entire community, appreciation and indebtedness to Aldie
Howard for his four years of service to the citizens of Tigard as
Administrative Assistant and Planning Director, during which time he has been
a major factor in molding Tigard into the desirable community that it is
today.
