Resolution No. 81-56 ( CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON RESOLUTION No. 81-6-& RESOLUTION OF THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL DECLARING THEIR INTENTION OF PARTICIPATION IN THE WASHINGTON COUNTY COOPERATIVE LIBRARY SERVICES i AUTOMATED CIRCULATION SYSTEM. WHEREAS, the City of Tigard has successfully completed over four years of participation in the Washington County Cooperative Library Services offering non ?` fee library services to all county residents; i WHEREAS, the Washington County Cooperative Library Services intends to offer I a one year levy in the amount of $1,300,000 for approval of the voters of Washington County on June 30, 1981; WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Tigard will receive substantial improvements in library services through automation of library circulation and catalog functions; WHEREAS, the acquisition of the automated system will allow continuation and improvement of library services in the future while containing costs; WHEREAS, the City of Tigard library is presently spending over 50% of their staff time maintaining card files rather than serving patrons; WHEREAS, Washington County Cooperative Library Services has agreed to purchase, impliment and operate an automated circulation system and other computerized services called WCCLS - RAIN, on behalf of the libraries in Washington County; z NOW, THEREFORE, p ; BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Tigard hereby declares its inteuL co participate in the automated library system named WCCLS - RAIN and to support the request for the above named levy on June 30, 1981 ballot. < PASSED: This day of Ale, 1981.
