RESOLUTION No. 79- -r-11
A RESOLUTION REGARDING THE SPEED LIMIT OF WALNUT STREET. _
WHEREAS, The Oregon State Speed Control Board has recently been requested
to study and reconsider posted speeds on certain streets within the City of
Tigard, Washington County; and
WHEREAS, Walnut Street falls within the jurisdiction of the City of Tigard,
and Washington County from Tiedeman to 121st; and
WHEREAS, this portion of Walnut Street has a pre-existing county speed
limit; and
WHEREAS, there are conflicting posted speed limit signs, for inbound and
outbound traffic; and
WHEREAS, this area is developed as a residential and public school segment
of the community.
NOW, THEREFORE,
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED:
Section 1: The City Council of the City of Tigard expresses its opinion that the
posted speed .limit on Walnut Street between Tiedeman and 121st Street
should be 30 mph in both directions, and that this resolution shall
serve as a recommendation to the Oregon State Speed Control Board, and
Washington County Commissioners, and is to be forwarded to the'Oregon
State Speed Control Board and Washington County Commissioners by the
City Recorder immediately upon the passage of the resolution.
