Resolution No. 79-03 CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON
RESOLUTION No. 79- 3
A RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING WILBUR A. BISHOP FOR HIS FOUR YEARS
OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF TIGARD AS MAYOR.
WHEREAS, Wilbur A. Bishop has served the citizens of Tigard in the
capacity of Mayor from January, 1975 through December, 1978; and
WHEREAS, Wilbur A. Bishop has exercised good judgement which has
earned him the respect and plaudits of his peers; and
WHEREAS, Wilbur A. Bishop has been instrumental in successfully
guiding the City's development during his 4 years of dedicated service;
a period which has been fraught with challenge and change as the community
has grown from a population of 10,085 to 13,500; and
WHEREAS, Wilbur A. Bishop has, during that period, given unselfishly
of his time and talents to the benefit of the entire community; and
WHEREAS, the Tigard City Council recognizes that such dedicated
community service cannot be compensated for but wishes to record the City's
appreciation to Wilbur A. Bishop for his dedicated service to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL THAT:
The Tigard City Council hereby expresses, in behalf of the
entire community, appreciation and indebtedness to Wilbur A. Bishop
for his 4 years of service to the citizens of Tigard as Mayor during
which time he has been a major factor in molding Tigard into the
desirable community that it is today.
