A RESOLUTION OF THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL STATING SUPPORT OF A PROPOSED OVERALL
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE FOR WASHINGTON COUNTY.
WHEREAS, the business community of Washington County, together with
officials and planning bodies of the various jurisdictions, have been
solicited for support of a proposed Overall Economic Development Committee,
we recommend this step and hereby state our support of it.
NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL THAT: ?

Section 1:- It is our understanding that a committee of broad-based makeup
shall be nominated from this and other like organizations, subject
_ to ratification and/or additional nominees on the part of the Washington County
Board of Commissioners.
Section 2: This Committee is to submit a plan for the conduct of its affairs,
accountable to the Board, after which it shall choose officers and
proceed to formulate a Washington County Overall Economic Development Plan.

Section 3: Such Plan shall be intended to meet Economic Development Administration s
and Oregon Department of Development objectives as a qualifying plan
under appropriate regulations. i
Section 4: Not later than ninety days after the formation and approval of the
Committee, it shall commence submission of status reports to the
County Commission and Planning Director.
Section 5: The Overall Economic Development Plan Committee shall not incur
expenses nor involve staff time except as authorized by the Board.
The Committee shall encourage such support as it may receive from each jurisdiction,
participating body, or others, including but not limited to C.R.A.G., Port of
Portland, L.C.D.C., Economic Development Administration, other Overall Economic
DevRlopment Plan committees, Portland State College, Oregon State University
Extension, University of Oregon and suc)i reference sources as may become available.
Section 6: The time frame for draft completion of the Plan shall be twelve
6,6 months, followed by revision if necessary acceptance by the Board and
submission to the Economic Development Administrator.
Section 7: The Committee will be charged with periodic examination of the Plan
status, not to exceed annually.
Section 8: It is intended that the Plan shall comply with and support the economic
s� element of all mandated requirements.
