Resolution No. 77-54 CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON RESOLUTION No. 77- .r/ A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE ADOPTION OF A COUNTY-WIDE GASOLINE TAX AND A SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT CHARGE FOR ROAD PURPOSES BY THE WASHINGTON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS WHEREAS, the Washington County Board of Commissioners has insuf- ficient funds to adequately maintain and improve the County roads system, and WHEREAS, a gasoline tax has been levied in Multnomah County and the State wide gasoline tax proposal was supported by a majority of Washington County voters at the last General election; and WHEREAS, the rate of growth in Washington County is compounding and adding to the need for road improvements and this new growth should bear a portion of the cost of improving the County roads; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that: The Tigard City Council supports the establishment of a gasoline tax and a Systems Development Charge on new construction for the purpose of effecting needed improvements and maintenance of the County road system.
