A RESOLUTION RE-EXPRESSING SUPPORT OF AND REQUESTING CRAG AND STATE/FEDERAL
APPROVAL OF THE COMPLETION OF THE HIGHWAY 217 AT 72nd AVENUE INTERCHANGE
PROJECT_
WHEREAS, the City of Tigard and Washington County have previously
requested initiation of the 72nd/217 Interchange project; and
WHEREAS, the CRAG Transportation Improvement Prpgram schedules
this interchange project for immediate construction utilizing State Bond funds; and
WHEREAS, the CRAG Transportation Technical Advisory Committee and its
Interstate Transfer Subcommittee and staff have found the project in accord
with the CRAG Criteria and Priorities for funding with Interstate Transfer
funds under the category "Other Major and Minor Projects'!;and
WHEREAS, the CRAG Board of Directors has by Resolution approved this project
for funding from both State Bond fund and Interstate Transfer funds subject
to approval of the Board of the actual application transmittal:
NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Tigard that:
Section 1: The City of Tigard re-affirms and re-expresses its support of
and request for expeditious approval of the 72nd. 217 Interchange
improvement project, presently estimated to cost 1.7 giillion dollars, and
further urges the Oregon Department of Transportation to proceed with project
implementation.
