Resolution No. 77-04 CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON
RESOLUTION No. 77 -
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING CITY POLICY RELATING TO PARTICIPATION IN LAW
ENFORCEMENT ASSISTANCE ACT AND OREGON DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION GRANT-
IN-AID PROGRAMS FOR POLICE FUNCTIONS.
WHEREAS, the City of Tigard has limited financial resources; and
WHEREAS, said limited resources prevent programming of expenditures
into the future; and
WHEREAS, many police related L.E.A.A. and O.D.O.T. programs require
commitments to assumption of future funding; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide direction and guidance
to City staff regarding the City's participation in said grant-win-aid
programs.
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
Section 1: It is the policy of the City of Tigard to refrain from
'x participation in L.E.A.A. and O.D.O.T. grant-in-aid

programs which require increasing local match and an eventual
total funding by the City of Tigard. This policy is enacted
as a direct result of the uncertainty of revenues available

to the City from year to year.
Section 2: Excluded from this policy are capital purchase or other one
time funding projects which will be considered by the City
Council on a case by case basis.
