A RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING AND COMMENDING THE RESIDENTS OF 79TH AVENUE FOR
THEIR INITIATIVE AND SELF-RELIANCE IN REGARD TO THEIR JOINT EFFORT TO SUCCESS-
FULLY CONSTRUCT AND PLACE A BUS SHELTER FOR USE BY NEIGHBORHOOD CHILDREN.
WHEREAS, the residents of S.W. 79th Avenue perceived a problem in the
fact that children had no protection from the elements while
awaiting school busses, and
WHEREAS, said residents determined to resolve this problem by constructing
a well designed bus shelter rather than request the public to solve
their problem, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such initiative and community spirit
should be recognized in a laudatory manner.
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Tigard City Council that:
Section 1: The residents of S.W. 79th Avenue are hereby publicly commended
for the initiative and neighborhood cooperation that they
displayed by constructing a school bus shelter to resolve a neighborhood
problem.
Section 2: Copies of this resolution shall be provided to the residents
of S.W. 79th Avenue as a permanent record of the initiative
and neighborhood cooperation displayed by said citizens of Tigard.
