" CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON
RESOLUTION NO. 74-_L_
A RESOLUTION FORWARDING TO THE OREGON STATE TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION
RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY OF TIGARD REGARDING THE PROVISION OF A
PEDESTRIAN/BICYCLE PATHWAY ADJACENT HALL BOULEVARD FROM ITS CROSSING
i OF STATE HIGHWAY 217 TO DURHAM ROAD

i WHEREAS, it is a matter of stateside concern to facilitate
alternate modes of transportation during a continuing energy crinis;
and

WHEREAS, walking and bicycles are two such alternate modes;
and
,F WHEREAS, there Is a need, regardless of energy supply, for a
pedestrian/bicycle path to provide a safe north-south transportation
route for use by the walking and bicycling public of the Tigard area;
and
WHEREAS, such a route would provide a connection between homes
and schools, homes and work and for recreation purposes; and
WHEREAS, the present Hall Boulevard facility is unsafe for
pedestrians and bicyclist.
?' NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESSN.VED BY THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL THAT:
The Tigard City Council supports the construction of a
Pedestrian/Bicyc ie Pathway on Hall Boulevard from State Highway
217 to Durham Road and, furthermore; urges the State Highway
Division to begin a feastbility survey of the proposed route.
