Resolution No. 72-25 Air i CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON RESOLUTION No.72- 25 RESOLUTION WITH RESPECT TO REGULAR CITY ELECTION OF ( NOVEMBER 7 , 1972 WHEREAS, an abstract of votes cast at the regular city election conducted with and as part of the general statewide election on November 7, 1972, has been furnished the City by the Department of Records and Elections of Washington County, Oregon, certifying the vote as follows: TAX BASE PROPOSAL Ballot Measure #51: YES - 746 votes ! NO - 1930 votes fl CANDIDATES FOR CITY OFFICES: For the office of Mayo: Sallot Title #142 - FLOYD BERGMANN - 1102 votes E Ballo; Title 1113 - DANIEL L. L.ARSEN - 1346 votes tF For Council POsition #1 Ballot Title #144 - ROBERT 140ORE - 1839 votes For Council BGzition #2 e Ballot Title 6145 - JOHN E. COOK - 1345 votes Ballot '.title #146 - CAROLYN PAISLEY - 939 votes NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: (1) That the results of the vote with respect to the Tax Base Proposal, Ballot Measure #51,01* hereby canvassed, and a majority of "NO",mtes having been cast, said measure was thereby defeated. (2) That the votes cast for Mayor of the City- of Tigard, as reported by the Department of Records and Elections, be, and the same are, hereby canvassed, and it is declared that DANIEL L. LARSEN was elected Mayor of the City of Tigard by a majority of the votes cast. (3) That the votes cast for Council Position #1, as reported by the Department of Records and Elections, be, and the same are, hereby canvassed, and it is declared that ROBERT MOORE was elected to Council POsition #1 of the City of Tigard by a majority of the votes cast. (4) That the votes cast for Council Position #2, as reported ic by the Department of Records and Elections, be, and the same are, hereby canvassed, and it is declared that JOHN E. COOK was elected to Council Position #2 of the City of Tigard by a majority of the votes cast. (5) That a certificate of result of election as certified by the Department of Records and Elections of Washington County, and Resolution No.72- 25 r � the original of this Resolution declaring the result of the canvass of the votea cast, shall be made a matter of record in the journal of the proceedings of this Council. �.. (6) That the City Recorder be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to make and sign a Certificate of Election of each • person elected and deliver the Certificate to him not later than November 14, 1972.
