CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON
A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE BALLOTS OF SPECIAL ELECTION HELD
IN THE CITY ON JUNE 6, 1972, CERTIFYING THE RESULTS THEREOF, MAKING
THE APPROPRIATIONS AND DECLARING AD VALOREM TAX LEVY FOR THE YEAR
BEGINNING JULY 1 1972 AND ENDING JUNE 30 1973.
WHEREAS, there was submitted to the legal voters of the City
at an election duly and regularly held on June 6, 1972 the following
measure:
"Shall the City of Tigard be authorized to levy for
maintenance and operation ofthe City for the period
beginning July 1, 1972 and ending June 30, 1973, the
sum of $118,943. in excess of the tax base of the
City, computed in accordance withSection 11, Article XI,
Oregon Constitution?"
WHEREAS, the results of said election as certified by the
Election Board are as follows:
Votes cast in favor of the levy - 217
Votes cast against the levy - 197
WHEREAS, the City Council has canvassed the ballots of the
election and confirmed the results thereof as hereinabove set forth,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, bytte City Council of the
City of Tigard:
(1) That a total general fund tax levy in the sum of
$230,739., including $117,796, within the limitations of Section 11,
Article XI, Oregon Constitution, and $118,943- in excess of said
limitations, is hereby declared and approved, and certified to the
Department of Revenue and Taxation of Washington County, Oregon, for
tie year beginning July 1, 1972 and ending June 30, 1973.
(2) That the City Recorder be, and she is hereby, authorized
and directed to certify a copy of this Resolution together with a
copy of the Budgetdocument of the City of Tigard, to the Department
of Revenue and Taxation of WAshington County, and further to file a
true copy of the Budget of the City with the Department of Revenue
of the State of Oregon, all on or prior to July 15, 1972, as provided
