"RESPECT FOR LAW WEEK"
WHEREAS, crime and its effect upon the lives and property of
our citizens continues undiminished, despite efforts
by government, citizens' organizations and many individuals,
and
WHEREAS, the problems of crime touch and affect all segments of
our society undermining and eroding the moral acid
economic strengths of our communities and their
citizens, and
WH1;REAS, there is still a reluctance on the par's of many citizens
to involve themselves in actions to insure the protection,
rights and well-being of their fellow citizens, and
WHEREAS, Optimist clubs and their members contihue .to sponsor
and support programs aimed at combating crime and
dis Psnect for law through year-round efforts; now

P..'?S0LVED,that I, Daniel L. Larsen, Mayor of. the City of Tigard,
Grcciaim the week of May 1-7, 1972, as PESPECT FOR
LAW WEEK, and ask all citizens of the City of Tigard
to loin with the Optimists in carrying the message of
:} respect for law to other citi.zons. and by example,
3ti exercise responsible citizenship.
