CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON
-' RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE (REVISED) PRELIMINARY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TEXT,
HEREINAFTER TERMED "TIGARD COMMUNITY PLAN", AS A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
I FOR THE PURPOSES AND OBJECTIVES SET FORTH IN §227.090 ORS.
WHEREAS, the Tigard Planning Commission with the assistance
and guidance of interested citizens, members of governmental bodies
and planning staff, heretofore submitted to the City Council a docu-
ment entitled "(Revised) Preliminary Comprehensive Plan Text - City
of Tigard, Oregon - May, 1971"; and
WHEREAS, said documentary presentation has as its base and back-
ground a thorough study of the needs of the area for the relief of
traffic congestion, betterment of housing and sanitation conditions,
establishment of land-use patterns with basic concepts for the future
growth, development and beautification of the Tigard area, including
a system of streets, parks and transportation facilities as well as
plans for the promotion, development and regulation of industry and
the economic needs of the community, and includ'sa study and proposal
In general terms of such media as may be advisable for promotion of
the
public interest, health, morals, safety, comfort, convenience and
welfare of the Tigard planning area, and in all respects said document
fulfils the requirements of a comprehensive plan as contemplated by
§227.090 ORS; and
WHEREAS, after due and legal notice, a public hearing was held
at the Lecture Room of Tuality Junior High School, Tigard, Oregon on
Wednesday, May 19, 1971 at 8:00 p.m. by the City Planning Commission
and the City Council whereat an oral presentation and pictorial dis-
play of the plan was given, and all interested persons were afforded
aan
nd opportunity to be heard with respect thereto and to comment thereon;
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said preliminary compre-
hensive plan text should be adopted as a statement of policy of the
City of Tigard upon which will be premised zoning, subdivision and
regulatory planning for present and future guidance in the orderly
development of the Tigard area;
NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Tigard that the
Preliminary Comprehensive Plan Text as prepared by the
Tigard Planning Commission with the assistance of in-
terested citizens, governmental officials and planning
staff, dated May 1971, copy whereof is nereto attached
and by reference made a part hereof, be, and the same is
hereby adopted for the uses and purposes hereinabove
stated, and may be referred to as the "TIGARD COMMUNITY
PLAN";
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said documentary plan and
text shall be subject to revision from time to time as may
become necessary, only after recommendation of the Tigard
Planning Commission and after presentation to the public
at a hearing duly and regularly held for that purpose."
