Resolution No. 69-17 RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE PROPOSED FORM7ATION OF A
_ COUNTY SERVICE DISTRICT PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS
OF CHAPTER261 OREGON REVISED STATUTES AS AMENDED
BY CHAPTER 646 OREGON LAWS OF 1969
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 451 ORS as
amended, Washington County through its Board of Commissioners has
caused to have prepared a Sewerage and Water Facilities Master
Plan for the Tualatin Basin; and
WHEREAS, the Washington County Board of Commissioners has
initiated proceedings to establish a County Service District as the
media whereby, through unified approach, the sewage disposal problems
of the various districts and the cities within the County can best
be solved; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to order issued on September 26, 1969, by
the State Department of Environmental Quality, the City of Tigard,
along with other similar bodies and districts within Washington
+• County, hasbeen directed to issuance of sewer connection per-
::a. mats on a generalized basis until such time as a unified program to
overcome the problems of sewage disposal in the Tualatin Basin has
been effectuated; and

WHEREAS, the City Council of Tigard considers that the best
interests of the people of the City of Tigard and the surrounding area
require that the City of Tigard ,join with the other bodies in ex-
pressing approval of the effort to accomplish the formation of a County
Service District and to provide the necessary sewage collection and
disposal facilities,
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TIGARD as
follows:
(1) That the proposal of Washington County to form a County
Service District in the Tualatin Basin is hereby endorsed and the
support of the Council of the City of Tigard to such proposal is
hereby pledged.
(2) That the City Administrator be, and he is hereby,
authorized and directed to forthwith cause to have certified and
delivered to the Board of Commissioners of Washington County a copy
of this Resolution.
PASSED by the Council of the City of Tigard at its regular
meeting of October 13, 1969.
