Resolution No. 68-16 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIGARD
SUPPORTING THE WASHINGTON COUNTY CHARTER
AND HOME RULE FORM OF GOVERNMENT
' WHEREAS, the home rule charter as adopted by the people of
Washington County at the general election of November 8, 1962 has
for the past six years shown itself to be an effective vehicle in
dealing with the local problems of the County; and
WHEREAS, an initiative proposal for the repeal of said
Charter will be submitted to the voters of Washington County for
consideration at the general election of November 5, 1968; and
WHEREAS, such repeal would abolish the home rule government
of Washington County and could only give rise to chaos and confusion
in re-aligning county government with the statutory system;
4a NOW, THEREFORE, -
BE IT KNOWN that the City Council of Tigard does hereby endorse
the continuance of the present Charter and home rule form of govern-
ment in Washington Count Oregon and recommends to the voters of
