Resolution No. 64-09 RESOLUTION DECLARING RESULT OF ELECTION OF NOVE14BER 3, 1964
CITY OF TIGARD
�- WHEREAS, at the general election duly and regularly Meld
on November 3, 1964, under the direction of the county clerk of
Washington County, within the city of Tigard, there were submitted
to the legal voters of said cstT ballots containing the names of
six candidates for the positions of city councilman, all of said
candidates having been duly nominated in the manner provided by
the charter of the city of Tigard, said candidates being as
hereinafter named; and
WHEREAS, the c,unty clerk of Washington County has duly
certified to the city council of Tigard the results and returns
with respect to said election held within tae four precincts
within the city of Tigard; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 27 of the charter of dxe city
of Tigard, the city council at this special meeting regularly called
and held on Thursday, November 12, 1964, in the council chambers
of the city hall, duly canvassed the returns of said election;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT RESOLVED by the council of the city
of Tigard that the retu: s of said election as certified by the
county clerk of Washing*.3n County, Oregon, showing the total votes
cast in the city of Tio.,rd as 2562, as hereinafter stated, and
the votes for each candidate asso certified, be and the same
is hereby adopted as the official return and result of said
election, to-wit:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that pursuant to Section 8 of
Chapter 3 of the charter of the city of Ti3ard, it is hereby
determined and declared that of the three councilpositions the
terms of which expire at the close of December 31, 1964--
(a) E. G. (Bud) Kyle be and he is hereby declared to be
elected for a term of four years,
(b) Darwin W. Shinn be and he is hereby declared to be
elected for a term of four years,
(c) C. E. Klock, Sr., be and he is hereby declared to be
elected for a term of two years;
the term of office of each of said persons to commence the first
of the year immediately following the election, and each of them,
before entering upon the duties of his office, shall take an oath

as provided by Section 30 of Chapter o of the charter of the city
of Tigard.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the city recorder of the city
of Tigard shall cause to have the result of said clectiC:% made
a matter of record in the journal of the proceedings of the
council, including a statement of the total number of votes cast,
the votes cast for each person, and the name of each person elec-
ted to office, and the office to which elected, and the city
recorder shall further make and sign a certificate cf election
for each person :erected and deliver the certificate to him within
one day from the date hereof.
