Ordinance No. 95-22 t CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON ORDINANCE NO. 95- C;)Q AN ORDINANCE OF THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL TO AMEND TIGARD MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 2.44 .010, AND SETTING APT EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, Tigard Municipal Code Section 2 .44 .010 provides for compensation to each duly appointed or elected Council member and the Mayor; and WHEREAS, the City Council appointed a Task Force (comprised of five members of the Budget Committee) to review Council Compensation, and WHEREAS, the report of the Task Force was presented to the City Council on July 25, 1995, recommending an increase in Council compensation; and WHEREAS, the Council delayed deliberating toward a decision on the matter to give opportunity to Tigard citizens to comment on the Task AM Force proposal, and WHEREAS, the Tigard City Charter, Chapter III, Section 11 authorizes the City Council of the City of Tigard to set salaries and compensation for the services of each city officer and employee; and WHEREAS, the Tigard City Council desires to adopt amendments to Tigard Municipal Code Section 2 .44 .010 to be effective January 1, 1996; and THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS : s SECTION 1: Tigard Municipal Section 2 .44 . 010 is hereby amended to read as it appears in Exhibit "A" which is attached hereto. SECTION 2 : This ordinance shall be effective January 1, 1996, upon passage by the Council, signature by the Mayor, and posting by the City .Recorder. Chanter 2.44 Compensation* [For attendance at regularly scheduled meetings of the city council, each duly appointed or elected councilmember -shall be entitled to a salary in the amount of one hundred dollars per month.
