Ordinance No. 86-61 CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON ■ ORDINANCE NO. 86-_ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 10 OF THE TIGARD MUNICIPAL CODE, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Tigard is empowered to install and maintain traffic-control signs, markings and signals to direct and regulate traffic and parking within LIG City of TI-Ard', and WHEREAS, the City of Tigard finds the need to authorize installa- tion of temporary "no parking" signs where conditions exist which would otherwise impede and congest the flow of traffic and circulation in the City of Tigard, to the detriment of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Tigard; and WHEREAS, the City of Tigard is authorized to amend its vehicle and traffic code pursuant to Tigard City Charter Chapter 2. THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 : The vehicle and traffic code, Tigard City Code Chapter 10, shall be amended as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached. SECTION 2: In no situation shall this ordinance be effective until the 31st day after its enactment by the City Council and approved by the Mayor. Subject to authority vested in the State Highway Commission and subject to the provisions of the laws of the State of Oregon, the city engineer and/or city police chief may cause to have erected, installed and maintained appropriate "no parking" signs as may be deemed necessary to direct and r����l3t� traff+^ for w period not to exceed six months, and subject to the limitations set forth herein. Y The city engineer and/or police chief may erect or cause to have erected "no parking" signs where thev have made a finding that a temporary obstruction or event would cause traffic and parking circulation to be impeded absent the placement of the temporary no parking" signs. �-u The erection and maintenance of such signs within the City by direction of the city engineer and/or police chief shall be deemed an administrative act to be performed under the authority granted by state law and provisions of Chapter 10.16 through 10.32. z ATTACHMENT "A"
