CITY OF TIGARD; OREGON
ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE RATIFYING ALL. PRIOR ORDINANCES ENACTED BY THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL.
FOR CLARIFICATION PURPOSES AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Tigard City Council has been advised by Legal Counsel that there
is the possibility of potential conflict in the interpre'Lwtion of the City of
Tigard Charter and State Statute requirements for the method of enacting
ordinances; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance shall be adopted by the following procedure: Posting
in three public places at least 7 days prior to adoption; copies made
available to Council members at least 7 days prior to adoption; posting of
adopted ordinance in three public places before it becomes effective; and
WHEREAS, the Tigard City Council wishes to remove any concern regarding
interpretation confusion regarding the method of enactment for City ordinances
since the incorporation of the City of Tigard.
THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Each and ever.;, r1rdinance adopted by the Tigard City Council prior
to October 14, 1985, and riot later repealed, is hereby adopted, ratified, and
en confirmed
Section 2: This ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the
public health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of 'Tigard to reirove any
passible quastion in interpretation of ordinance enactment requirements of the
City of Tigard Charter and State Statute, and an emergency is hereby declar'd
to 'exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage
by the Council and Frosting by the Recorder.
