AN ORDINANCE OF THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL AriENDING SECTION 1 (5) OF ORDINANCE
$2-71 RELATING TO DEFINING AN "EQUIVALENT SERVICE UNIT" ON THE CITY'S STORM
DRAINAGE SYSTEM AND FIXING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Tigard City Council on October 25, 1982, adopted in
Section 1 (5), an "Equivalent Service Unit" (ESU), for the purpose of defining
the demand of a single family dwelling unit or, the City's storm drainage
L system, as being 2750 square feet of impervious surface, and;
WHEREAS, subsequent measurements of random single family properties
have more accurately identified 2500 square feet as the amount of impervious
surface on the typical single family lot,
NOW, THEREFORE, the Tigard City Council ordains as follows:
Section 1: Ordinance No. 82-71 is amended to read with bracketed language
deleted and underlined language added as follows: Section 1
4 (5): "Equivalent Service Unit" (ESU) means a residential or
non-residential configuration estimated to place approximate
equal demand on the City's storm drainage system as a single
k family dwelling unit. One (1) ESU shall be equal to [2750] 2500
NEW square feet of impervious surface.
Section 2: This ordinance shall be effective on and after the 30th day
after its enactment by the City Council and approved by the
Mayor.
