Ordinance No. 82-34 CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON ORDINANCE No. 82- 3 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 16.24 OF THE TIGARD MUNICIPAL CODE BY EXTENDING THE DATE FOR COMPLIANCE WITH SIGN REGULATIONS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The Tigard City Council deems it necessary to extend the period of compliance of nonconforming signs from the standards set by Ordinance No. 71-05 to June 30, 1982. Therefore, the Tigard City Council does hereby amend Section 16.24.010 of the Tigard Municipal Code as follows: "Except as provided by Sections 16.24.020 through 16.24.040, signs in existence on January 11, 1971, which do not conform to the provisions of this title, but which were constructed, erected or maintained in 4 compliance with all previous regulations, shall be regarded as nonconforming signs and shall be removed by August 30, 1982." Section 2: Inasmuch as this ordinance is necessary to protect the general welfare of the people of the City of Tigard, this amendment must be made with the least possible delay; therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval by the City Council.
