ORDINANCE NO. 82-10
AN ORDINANCE ADDING SECTION 10.16.050 TO THE TIGARD MUNICIPAL CODE, PROHIBITING
THROUGH TRUCK TRAFFIC ON SPECIFIED STREETS AND FIXING AN EFFECTIVE DATE:
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined it is in the public interest to
regulate truck traffic in order to prevent deterioration of residential streets
and to protect the public from the unnecessary safety hazards associated with
heavy vehicle traffic.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF TIGARD CITY COUNCIL ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: There is hereby added to the Municipal Code of Tigard, Section
10.16.050 which is to read as follows:

1. The following streets or portions thereof within the City
of Tigard are restricted by use during the hours designated:
Through Truck Traffic is prohibited twenty-four hours,
seven days per week:
(a) Within the right-of-way of SW Gaarde Street, from SW
Pacific Highway to SW 121st Avenue.
(b) Within the right-of-way of SW 121st Avenue from SW
Gaarde Street to SW Scholls Ferry Road.
(c) Within the right-of-way of SW 135th Avenue from SW
Scholls Ferry Road to SW Walnut Street.
(d) Within the right-of-way of SW Walnut Street from SW
135th Avenue to 5W Pacific Highway.
(e) Within the right-of-way of SW Tiedeman Avenue from SW
Greenburg Road to SW Walnut Street.
2. Truck as referred to herein shall be defined as a vehicle or
a motor truck, truck tractor, or truck trailer as defined
under Chap. 481, ORS except that it shall be defined as all
trucks licensed in excess of 20,000 pounds Gross Vehicle
Weight (G.V.W. )
3. Trucks that can reach their destination by traveling any other
route than these restricted streets are defined as Through
Truck Traffic."

Section 2: This ordinance shall become effective on and after the 31st day
after its passage by,the Council.
