Ordinance No. 79-99 CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON ORDINANCE No. 79- 1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE No. 79-94 BY AMF.NDING SCHEDULE"A" TnESCRIBING AN EFFECTIVE lt TF AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: That pursuant to Section 9 of Ordinance No. 69-76, the rates set forth on Schedule "A" hereto attached and by reference made a part hereof, for taxicab service to be rendered by any business permittee pursuant to the terms of Ordinance No. 69-76, shall become effective upon adoption of this ordinance and shall remain in effect until modified or changed by further amendment to Ordinance No. 69-76, and no other or different rates shall at any time be charged or collected for taxicab service either directly or indirectly. The rates set forth in Schedule "A" of Ordinance No. 69-76 - -and Ordinance No. 79-94 to the extent inconsistent herewith, are hereby superseded. Section 2: Inasmuch as it is necessary for the peace, health and safety of the people of the City of Tigard that continuity of authorized taxicab service be maintained within the City and that the matters hereinabove set forth be given effect without delay, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be effective upon its passage by the Council and approval by the Mayor. Mayor ORDINANCE No. 79- ORDINANCE No. 79-qq SCHEDULE "A" The following schedule of rates shall be charged and collected for the transportation of passengers in taxicabs for trips within the City and within three miles from the City limits, and it shall be unlawful for any charged in excess thereof to be made. All rates shall be determined by a taximeter, to be inspected by the Chief of Police annually, except those allowed by Paragraph F below. A. An initial flag drop of. $1.00. B. Subsequent to the initial flag drop charge provided for in paragraph A., the maximum rate shall be ten cents ( .10) for each one-twelfth mile or fraction thereof, and or waiting time for each one minute or less. C. For each extra passenger over 12 years of age, fifty cents (.50) additional charge. D. Waiting time at the rate of $12.00 per hour shall include the time when the taxicab is not moving, beginning with the time of arrival at the place to which the taxicab has been called, or the time consumed while the taxicab is stai.ding or waiting at the direction of the passenger, or forced to stand because of prevailing traffic conditions. No charge shall be made on account of time lost on account of inefficiency of the taxicab or it's operation, or time consumed by premature response to a call. E. No charge shall be made for traveling without passenger, unless the taxicab shall have been engaged for messenger service, in which event the rates applicable to a single passenger shall be the maximum charge therefore. Delivery service rate shall be $4.00 for the first mile and $1.00 per mile up to 15 miles and $1.20 thereafter. F. A service charge of one dollar. ($1.00) shall be made for calls refused after being ordered. _i s ORDINANCE No. 79-
