ORDINANCE No, 78- 70
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10.32.010 OF THE TIGARD MUNICIPAL CODE
BY ADDING A PROVISION RELATING TO BICYCLE PATHS, SETTING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY,
THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The City Council finds that since the passage of Section
10,32.010 in its current form in 1970, bicycle traffic
within the City has increased and the City has made additional physical
arrangements for the passage of bicycle traffic, and further finds that
there is a need for regulation of the relationship between bicycle
traffic, motor vehicle traffic, and pedestrian traffic , and that in order
to take advantage of changes in state statutes and regulations relating
to traffic control the designation of certain areas as "bicycle paths"
is desirable for the protection of the health and welfare of the
residents of the City of Tigard,

10.32.010 Powers of the City Council of the Municipal
Code of the City of Tiga�is amendedy the adJition of subsection
(10) as follows:
(10) Bicycle Paths.
Section 3: Inasmuch as this ordinance is necessary to protect the health,
safety and general welfare of the public an emergency is
recognized to exist and is hereby declared and this ordinance shall
become effective immediately upon passage and approval by the City
Council.
