AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING CHAPTER 10.0-8. OF THE TIGARD
MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING TO SECTION 10.28.130 TO PROHIBIT PARKING ON
A PORTION OF S.W. 72ND AVENUE, SOUTHERLY OF S.W. BONITA ROAD, DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY AND FIXING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That Section 10.28.130 of the Tigard Municipal Code, relating
to locatichs where parking is prohibited at any time, be, and
the same is hereby amended and supplemented to add thereto a new subsection
reading as follows:
"10.28.130 Prohibited at any time. No person shall at any time
park or leave standing a vehicle of any kind or character, whether
motorized or not, and whether attended or unattended, within the
following defined protions of public streets and highways within
the city:
( ) Within the west half of the right-of-way of S.W. 72nd
Avenue from a point five hundred eighty feet southerly of the
intersection of the south right-of-way line of S.W. Bonita
Road, extending southerly nine hundred sixty feet to a point
therein.
Section 2: That the City Administrator be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to cause to have the areas in which parking
is prohibited as above set forth suitably posted in the manner provided
by law.
Section 3: Inasmuch as this parking prohibition is necessary to protect
the health, safety and general welfare of the public and in
particular, pedestrians on said Street an emergency is recognized to exist
and is hereby declared and this ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon passage and approvalby the City Council.

Sir:
Please be advised that all parties involved have been contacted
by the police department, and the manager of subject property
advises he will make every effort to keep employees and others
from parking on the 72nd Street right of Bray,
it is recommended that a No Parking Zone be established In this
area, whereby the hazards to the motorists traveling on 72nd
and those emerging from the driveways of these businesses
will be reduced. This is a narrow two lane, with a rapid down
hill elevation change to the north; subsequently, parking in
this area creates a hazardous condition.
