AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 16.40.010 RELATING TO POLITICAL SIGNS BY
MODIFYING FILING PROCEDUEL'S AND PROHIBITING THE PLACEMENT OF POLITICAL
SIGNS WITHIN OR ON PUBLIC RIGHTS-OF-WAY OR OTHER PUBLIC PROPERTY.
_ THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Section (b)(4) of Chapter 16.40.010, Flags, Banners, Political
Signs, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"(4) Any person intending to place such signs shall, prior to
placing any sign, execute a removal agreement covering these
provisions and shall file a one hundred dollar bond or one
hundred dollars in cash with an agreement acceptable to the
City Attorney, refund conditioned upon guaranteeing removal
of the signs within the time specified. Within 48 hours
following the erection of any political sign, any person placing
such signs shall file a map, or address listing, showing the
locations of such signs."
SECTION 2: Section (b) of Chapter 16.40.010, Flags, Banners, Political
Signs, is further amended by the addition of a new subsection
(5) to read as follows:
"(5) No political sign shall be erected within or on any public
property or right-of-way or affixed to any pole, .post,
standard or other support located within or on public property
or a public right-of-wa ."
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall take effect on the 31st day following
final passage and approval by the City Council.
