ORDINANCE NO. 71- 6
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 70-42 (City of Tigard
Building Code of 1970 - adopting the 1970 Editions of the Uniform
Building Code of the International Conference of Building Officials)
BY AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING Section 303(b) OF THE UNIFORM BUILDING
CODE TO ESTABLISH APPLICABLE FEES FOR PLAN-CHECKING SERVICES FOR
REPEATED USE OF THE SAME OR SUBSTANTIALLY SIMILA:i BUILDING PLANS
COVERING RESIDENTIAL UNITS AS PART OF ONE DEVELOPMENT; ADOPTING
TIE 1971 SUPPLANT TO THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODES; PRESCRIBING
EFFECTIVE DATE.
TME CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That Section 303ib) - Plan-Checking Fees - of Volume I
1970 Edition of the Uniform Building Code, adopted by
Ordinance No. 70,-42 enacted by the City Council on October 25, 1970,
is hereby amended to read as follows:
" (b) Plan-ch ecking_Fes

required wo be submitted by Subsection (c) of Section 301,
a plan-checking fee shall be paid to the Building Official
at the time of submitting plans and specifications for
checking. Said plan-checking fee shall be equal to one-
half of the building permit fee as set forth in Table
No. 3-A for an individual permit; provided that in any
case involving repeated use of the same or substantially
similar building plans covering single-family residential
units as part of one development, the fee for plan
checking services with respect to the second and success-
ive permits shall be computed at the rate of $10. per
permit.11
Section 2: That Ordinance No. 70-42 enacted by the Council on
October 26, 1970, entitled "CITY OF TIGARD UNIFORM.
BUILDING CODE OF 197011, and the Uniform Building Code Volumes I, II,
III, IV and V, and the Standards for Volume I, 1970 Editions, as
adopted by said ordinance, are amended by hereby adopting the 1971
Supplement to the Uniform Building Codes as promulgated by the Inter-
national Conference of Building Officials, 50 S. Los Robles, Pasadena,
California 91101, said Supplement by this reference being made a part
of Ordinance t1o. 70-42 to the same legal force and effect as if set
forth in said Ordinance No. 70-42 and herein in full.
Not less than three (3) copies of the said 1971 Supplement
to the Uniform Building Codes shall be kept and maintained on file
In the office of the City Recorder of Tigard for use and examination
by the public, pursuant to 221.330 ORS.
Section : To the extent, if any, that any provisions of Ordinance
No. 70-42 or the said Uniform Building Codes Volumes T,
I1, III, IV and V and the Standards for Volume I, 1970 Editions, shall

be inconsistent with the provisions of this amendatory ordinance,
said Ordinance No. 70-42 and sa9.d Codes shall be deemed to be hereby
amended in conformity herewith.
Section 4: This ordinance shall be effecti7e on and after the 31at
day after its adoption by the City Council of Tigard.
PASSED: By unanimous vote of all Council members present, after
being read three times by number and title only,
