AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE No. 68-54 WITH RESPECT
TO SECTION 4 THEREOF PRESCRIBING NOVEMBER 6, 1968, AS THE
EFFECTIVE DATE FOR ANNEXING OF THE TERRITORY '1HEREIN DESCRIBED.
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 68-54, duly passed by the City
Council of Tigard on August 12, 1968, certain lands of Floyd
H. Anderson, et al and William F. Holden, Washington County,
Oregon, as therein described, were approved for annexation to
the City of Tigard; and
WHEREAS, O.R.S.,222.180 requires that the effective
date of said annexation be deferred until November 6, 1968;
NOW THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That Section 4 of Ordinance No. 68-54, adopted
by the City Council of Tigard, on August 12, 1968,
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"The annexation hereby ordained shall be effective on
November 6, 1968, after filing with the Secretary of State of
Oregon the copies of proceedings as in Section 2 hereof required
to be filed, and from and after said date the hereinabove
described and annexed territory shall be and remain a part of
the City of Tigard."
Section 2: That the Recorder of the City of Tigard be, and
she is hereby directed forthwith to make and
submit certified copies of this Ordinance to the following offices:
a. Office of the Secretary of State of Oregon
b. Department of Revenue and Taxation of Washington
County, Oregon
C. Department of Records and Elections of Washington
County, Oregon
d, office of the County Surveyor of Washington County,
Oregon
and to file herein the acknowledgments of said Departments of
said filings.
Section 3: Inasmuch as it is necessary for the peace, health
-- and safety of the people of the City of Tigard,
Oregon that the description of the premises annexed by Ordinance
No. 68-54 be clarified with the least possible delay, to preserve
" the integrity of the boundaries of the City of Tigard, an
emergence is hereby declared to exist; and this Ordinance shall
be effective immediately upon its enactment by the Council#
approval by the Mayor, and filing same with the Office of
Secretary of State of Oregon.
