ORDINANCE NO. 68- h.5�
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO THE CITY OF TIGARD LANDS OF
FARMERS 'JADERWRITERS ASSOCIATION et al in Sec. 1, T2S, R1W,
W.M. WASHINGTON COUNTY, OREGON
6+t4lMuAsF the owners of the hereinafter described lands have
potitione4 the City of Tigard to annex the same to the City, and
have filed consent,to said annexation with the City Recorder under
data of the 17th day of June , 1968; and
WHEREAS, the lands hereinafter described and proposed to be
annexed .are contiguous to the corporate limits of the City of Tigard
and are not within the corporate limits of any city and lie wholly
within the County of Washington, State of Oregon, and are, in all
respects, qualified to be annexed to the City of Tigard; and
WHEREAS, By Ordinance No. 68-50 duly enacted by the City
Council of Tigard on the 22 day of Ju�ly , 1968, the City
Council of Tigard did elect to dispense with submitting the annexa-
tion proposal to the registered voters of the City of Tigard, and
did by said ordinance set Monday the 12th day of g�guF,t _. 1968
at the hour of 8:00 p.m. at the City HHi, Tigard, Oregon, as the
time and place for public hearing by the Council of said annexation
proposal; and
WHEREAS, said hearing o£ Au ust 12 1968 wax duly
publicized by notice published ones ®ac wee or two successive
weeks, or three publishings in all, to-wit: On the 25tihday of
July , 1968, the lst day of Au ust , 68 and the 8t

circula� nani Pu-hUshad in the City of Tigard, Oregon; that an
affidavit of said publication is on file herein and that notice of
said hearAng was further given by posting in four public and conspic-
uOUS places within the City of Tigard for a like period and that the
affidv.vit of the City Recorder with respect to said posting is on
file herein; and
WHEREAS, the hearing on said proposal was duly and regularly
Yield at the City Hall, City of Tigard, on A ivL , 146
at the hour of 8:00 p.m., whereat all interes�persons and regis-
tered voters of the City desiring to be heard, were heard, and said
hearing was duly closed; and
WHEREAS, it appears that all statutory requirements for the
annexation of the following described area to the City of Tigard have
received full compliance and that said area may be lawfully annexed
to the City of Tigard.
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF TIGAIRD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That all of the following described lands be, and the
At same are, hereby annexed to the City of Tigard, and the
boundaries of the City of Tigard be, and they are, hereby extended
to include the following described lands within the said boundaries:

Section 2: That the Recorder of the City of Tigard be, and she is
hereby directed, within 10 days from the date hereof,
to make and submit to the Secretary of State of Oregon:
a. A certified copy of this ordinance of annexation
b. A certified copy of the statement of consent of
the landowners in the territory annexed
c. A certified copy of ordinance No. 68-_50 whereby the
City Council declared that no election is required
in the City,
and to file herein the acknowledgment of the Secretary of State of
said tiling.
Section 3: That the Recorder of the City of Tigard be, and she is
hereby directed, within 10 days from the date hereof, to
fide with each of the Department of Revenue and Taxation and the
Department of Records. and Elections of the County of Washington,
the following:
a. A certified copy of this ordinance of annexation
b. A certified copy of Ordinance No. 68- 50
and that a copy of this Ordinance be directed to the Office of the
Washington County Surveyor, and to file herein the acknowledgments
of said Departments of said filings.
Section 4: The annexation hereby ordained shall be effective on the
date of filing with the Secretary of State of Oregon the
copies of proceedings as in Section 2 hereof required to be filed,
and from and after said date the hereinabove described and annexed
territory shall be and remain a part of the City of Tigard.
PASSED: By the Council, by unanimous vote of all Council members
present, after being read three times by number and
title only, this 12 day of August 1968.

That portion of the Varns Acres Tracts being located in
the Northerly half of the Southeast quarter of Section 1, T2S,
RiW, W.M. Washington County, Oregon more particularly described
as follows:
Basis,irng at the quarter section corner on the Easterly
line of said section 1, said corner also being the initial point
of VArns `Acres a duly recorded subdivision,: runningthvncw West
along the Northerly line of said subdivision to the Northwest
corner of Lot 11 Varns Acres; thence South along the Westerly
line of said Lot to the intersection of the South westerly right
of WaLv line of the Beaverton-Tigard Highway; thence Southeasterly
along said right of way line to the intersection of the Westerly
1ine ,of -Lot 4: Varns Acres; thence .North Go 45'' East along said
lot line to the Northwest corner of said Lot 4:• and continuing then
along an extended line to the centerline of S. W. Varns Street,
(C.R. #1256) ; thence North 890 521 East along said centerline to
a point marring the beginning point of C.R. #1286; thence continuing'
along anextension of said centerline to the East line of said
