W. HOFFARBER AVENUE EXTEID- IIiG FRCS'; THE EAST LINA; OF TRACT 13, HOFFARBER. TRACTS, TO THE WEST LINE OF TRACT 25, HOFFARBER TRACTS, DIRECT- ING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO MARK THE SAME ON THE SURFACE OF THE ROADWAY CONFORMING IN DESIGN TO STANDARDS PR.ESCRI13ED BY THE STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION, AND PRESCRIBING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLL07IS: Section l: That Ordinance No. 66-20 k"Motor Vehicle Code of the City of Tigard enacted by the City Council on the 11th day of April, 1966, be and the same is hereby amended to add to Chapter IV thereof a new section designated Section 483.GJ6 (T) with Sub-sections (a), (b) and (c) thereof, read- ing as follows: Section 483.006 (T) DEFINITION OF CROSS-WALK AND DESIGNATION AND ESTABLISi-MENT OF A MARKED PEDESTRIAN CROSS-WALK WITHIN THE CURB LIlJES OF S. W. IOFFARcER AVENUE. Cross-walk means: (a) Except as provided in paragraph (b) of this subsection, that portion of a Broadway at an intersec- tion included within the connections of the lateral lines of the sidewalks on opposite sides of the street or highway measured from the curbs or, in the absence of curs, from the edges of the traveled roadway to the property lines; or the prolongation of the lateral dines of a sidewalk, to the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street, if the prolongation would meet such sidewalk; or (b) Any portion of a roadway at an intersection or elsewhere distinctly indicated for pedestrian cross- ing by lines or other markings on the surface of such roadway, conforming in design to standards prescribed by the commission. Whenever marked cross-vralks have been indicated, such cross walks and no other shall be deemed lawful across such roadway at that intersection. } ORD114ANCE NO. 68-44 Page 1 (c) That there is hereby designated as a marked cross-walk for pedestrians an area nine feet in width between the curbs of S. W. Hoffarber Avenue extending from the easterly line of Tract 13, Hoffarber Tracts, to the westerly line of Tract 25, Hoffarber Tracts, a duly recorded subdivision in the City of Tigard, Washington County, Oregon, including all area within four and one-half feet of the following described cen- ter line of said cross--walk: Beginning at a point on _ the east line of Tract 13, Hoffarber Tracts 186.9 feet youth of the South East corner of Tract 10, Hoffarber Tracts; thence easterly perpendicular to the east line of Tract 13, Hoffarber Tracts, to a point on the west line of Tract 25, Hoffarber Tracts 80,5 feet South of the North West corner of said Tract 25. Section 2: The Director of Public Works be and he is hereby authorized and directed to cause to have the said cross-walk duly marked by lines or other marks on the surface of said roadway conforming in design to standards prescribed by the Oregon State Highway Commission, same to be within fifteen (15) days from date of adoption of this Ordinance. Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be effective on and after the 31st day of its enactment by the City Council of Tigard, Oregon PASSED: By the Council, by unanimous vot(_ of all members present, after being read three times by title this 8th day of July, 1968.
