AN ORDINANCE SETTING HEARING WITH RESPECT TO PROPOSED ANNEXA-
TION OF THE LANDS OF THE Erwin T. Wills Estate, Christensen, Goodell
and Chamberlain, in Sections 3 and 4, T2S, R1W, W.M., and Section 34,
T1S, R1W, W.M., WASHINGTON COUNTY, OREGON, AND DIRECTING GIVING OF
NOTICE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, there has heretofore been filed with the City Re-
corder of the City of Tigard, petition for annexation of certain
lands in Washington County, Oregon, as hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, said premises are contiguous to the City of Tigard
and not within the corporate limits of any other City, and lie
wholly within the County of Washington, State of Oregon; and
WHEREAS, it appears that said premises may properly be
annexed to the City of Tigard without submitting the question to
the registered voters of the territory, since the owners thereof,
the heirs of Erwin T. Wills, to-wit: GRACE D. GOULDSTONE, individually
and as Executrix, HELEN H. FREEMAN, EARL R. MARSH, ERMA E. TAYLOR,
MARGARET M. DAFOE, ALFRED BELL; and HELEN C. J. CHRISTENSEN, LYLE D.
GOODELL, EVELYN V. GOODELL, JOSEPH G. CHAMBERLAIN and ARLENE 0.
CHAMBERLAIN, have by signed petition requested and consented to said
annexation;
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Tigard does hereby
elect to dispense with submitting the question of the
annexation of the hereinafter described premises to the registered
voters of the City.
Section 2: That Monday, the 11th day of March, 1968, at the hour of
8:00 p.m., at the City Hall in the City of Tigard, be,
and the same is, hereby fixed as the date, time and place of public
hearing before the City Council of Tigard of ti-e petition of

for tion of the hereinafter described lands to the City of
Tigard, and all registered voters of the City may appear at said time
and place and be heard on the question of said annexation-
Section 3: The City Recorder of the City of Tigard be, and she is
hereby, directed to give notice of said hearing by publi-
cation once each week for two successive weeks, or three publishings
in all, prior to the date of the hearing, in the Tigard Times, a news-
paper of general circulation in the City, and said Recorder be, and
she is hereby further directed to post notices of said hearing in four
public places in the City of Tigard for a like period.
Section 4: That the area proposed to be annexed be, and the same is
hereby described on the attached sheet headed "DESCRIPTION"
which by reference herein is made a part hereof.

Beginning at the southwest corner of Section 34, T13,
R1W, W.M. . Washington County, Oregon; thence N 01061W. along the
west line thereof, 65. .4) feet to the southwest corner of the
Elam Engstrom tract as described on page 759 in Book 275, Wash-
ington County, Ore7on, Deed REcords; thence N890521E along the
south line of said Engstrom tract and the south line of parcel one
of the Vance R. Nordstrom et ux tract as described on page 262 in
Book 300, said Deed REcords, 1321.6 feet to the southeast corner
of said Nordstrom tract; thence along the center of the County Read
S91281E 1036.6 feet and 37030'W 122.10 feet to the northeast
corner of the George Anderson et ux tract as described on page 335
in Book 240, said Deed Records; thence along the boundary of said
Anderson tract N85000'W 221.9 feet, 57018'W 199.1 feet, S38°53'E
27.8 fleet and 585000'E 201.9 feet to the southeast corner thereof;
thence continuing S7030'W in the center of said County Road 177.73
feet to the northeast corner of the E.R.Christensen et al tract as
described on page 621 in Book 236, said Deed Records; thence along
the boundary of said Christensen tract S78018'W 305.0 feet and
S7018'W 480.77 feet to the southwest corner thereof; thence South-
westerly in the center of the County Road 1140.0 feet, more or
less, to the southerly extension of the east line of the Erwin T.
Wills tract as described on page 522 in Book 292 said Deed Records;
thence North along said southerly extension and the east line of
said Wills tract to the northeast corner thereof; thence West along
the north line thereof 75.0 feet to the west line of vection 3,
T2S, R1W, W.M.; thence North along said west line 1295.0 feet to the
place of beginning;
ALSO, in Section 4, T2S, R1W, W.M., Washington County, Oregon, be-
ginning at the Northeast earner of said section, thence S 0°08'W

ington County Oregon, northerly along the East line of Section 4
to a point .1346 feet South of the North lire of Sec-3, and being a
' part of 'fax Lot 100, 2S 1 4A according to the Washington County
Assessor's records; SUBJECT TO outstanding easements of record for
the use thereof for road purposes.

Section 5: Inasmuch as the hearing of the petition for annexation
of the lands herein described should be conducted with
the least possible delay, an emergency is hereby declared to exist
and it is declared to be necessary for the peace, health and safety
of the City of Tigard that this ordinance become effective upon its
passage by the Council and signature by the Mayor.
PASSED: By the Council, by unanimous vote of all Council members
present, after being read three times by number and
title only, this 12th day of February, 1968.
