CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON
ORDINANCE No. 68
AN ORDINANCE SETTING HEARING WITH RESPECT TO PROPOSED ANNEXA-
TION OF THE LANDS OF HOWARD R. ADKINS, being part of Lot 10, Frewing
Orchard Tracts in Sec. 2, T2S, R1W, W.M.
WASHINGTON COUNTY, OREGON, AND DIRECTING GIVING OF NOTICE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, there has heretofore been filed with the City Re-
corder of the City of Tigard, petition for annexation of certain
lands being part of Lot 10, Frewiny- Orchard Tracts in Sec 2,T2S,
RM W.M. Washington County, Oregon, as hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, said premises are contiguous to the City of Tigard
and not within the corporate limits of any other City, and lie
wholly within the County of Washington, State of Oregon; and
WHEREAS, it appears that said premises may properly be
annexed to the City of Tigard without submitting the question to
the registered voters of the territory, since the owners thereof,
Howard R. Adkins
have by signed petition requested and consented to said annexation;
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Tigard does hereby
elect to diGTense with -! ''rnitting the cuestion of the
annexation ofthehereinafter described premises to the registered
voters of the City.
Section 2: That Monday, the 12thday of February 1968 at the
hour of 8:00 p.m., at the City Hail in the City of
Tigard, be, and the same is, hereby fixed as the date, time and place
for public hearing before the City Council of Tigard of the petition
of Howard R. Adkins
for annexation of the hereinafter described lands to the City of
Ti-d, and all registered voters of the City may appear at said
time and place and be heard on th& qu::stion of said annexation.
Section 3:_ The City Recorder of the City of Tigard be, and she is
+' hereby, directed to give notice of said hearing by pub-
lication once each week for two successive weeks, or three p{3blish
i.ngs in all, prior to the date of the hearing, in the Tigard Times,
a newspaper of general circulation in the City, and said Recorder
be, ana she it hereby further directed to post notices of said hear-
ing in four public places in the City of Tigard for a like period.
Section 4; That the area proposed to be annexed be, and the same
is hereby described as follows:

Beginning at the Southeast corner of Lot 10, FREWING ORCHARD
TRACTS, in Section 2, Township 2 South, Range 1 West, Willamette
Meridian, Washington County, Oregon, said corner being in the
ry' center of S.W. Garrett Street (county road No. 1067); thence
North 240 30' west along the Easterly line of said tract, being
"=p;l the center line of said street, a distance of 134.0 feet; thence
South 620 00' West parallel with the Southerly line of said tract
and alc-ng the existing corp:gate limits of the City of Tigard, to
the West line of said Lot 10; thence South 00 27' West along the
said West line to the Southwest corner of said Lot 101and thence
North 620 00' East along the Southerly line of said Lot 10 a
distance of 7.54 chains to the place of beginning.
Section 5: Inasmuch as the hearing of the petition for annexation
of the lands herein described should be conducted with
the least possible delay, an emergency is hereby declared to exist,
and it is declared to be necessary for the peace, health and safety
of the City of Tigard that this ordinance become effective upon its
passage by the Council and signature by the Mayor.
PASSED: By the Council, by unanimous vote of all Council members
present, after being read three times by number and
title only, this 8th day of January , 196 8.
