Ordinance No. 67-27 CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON ORDINANCE No. 67 - 2,7 AN ORDINANCE SETTING HEARING WITH RESPECT TO PROPOSED ANNEXA- TION OF THE LANDS OF GEORGIA-PACIFIC CORPORATION and FARMERS UNDERWRITERS ASSOCIATION, in the SE1/4 of Sec. 1, T2S, RlW, W.M., WASHINGTON COUNTY, ORECON, AND DIRECTING GIVING OF NOTICE THEREOF. WHEREAS, there has heretofore been filed with the City Re- corder of the City of Tigard, petition for annexation of certain lands in the SEI/4 of Sec. 1, T2S, R1W, W.M., Washington County, Oregon, as hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, said premises are contiguous to the City of Tigard and not within the corporate limits of any ether City, and lie '> Wholly within the County of Washington, State of Oregon; and WHEREAS, it appears that said premises may properly be `� annexed to the Cit of Tigard without submitting ythe q City g g question to the registered voters of the City, since the owners thereof, GEORGIA-PACIFIC CORP., anu FARMERS UNDERWRITERS ASSOCIATION 4` have by signed petition requested and consented to said annexation; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: Section l: That the City Council of the City of Tigard does hereby elect .to dispense with submitting the question of the annexation of the hereinafter described premises to the. registered voters of the City. Section 2: That Monday, the 8th day of Maw , 1967 at the hour of 8:00 p.m., at the City Hall in the City of Tigard, be, and the same is, hereby fixed as the date, time and place for public hearing before the City Council of Tigard of the petition of Georgia-Pacific Corp. and Farmers Underwriters Association for annexation of the hereinafter described lands to the City of Tigard, and all registered voters of the City may appear at said time and place and be heard on the question of said annexation. SectionThe City Recorder of the City of Tigard be, and she is hereby directed to give notice of said hearing by pub licatio;a once each week for two successive weeks, or three_publish- ings in all, prior to the date of the hearing, in the Tigard Times, a newspaper of general ci °culation in the City, and said Recorder be, and she is hereby further directed to post notices of said hearing in four public places in the City of Tigard for a like period. E. 1/4 of Section 1, T2S, R1W, W.M., Washington County Oregon with the centerline of S. W. 72nd Avenue (County Road 2415) said point being the re-entrant corner of the James Hieklin D.L-C.i113; thence East along the South line of the SE1/4 of said Section 1 to the Southeast corner of said Sec.l; thence North along the East line of said Sec. 1 to a point which bears N891521E from a point on the centerline of S. W. Varns Street marking the beginning point of County Road 1286; thence West along the centerline of S.W.Varns St. (Co.Rd.1286) to a point N 00421E of the Northwest cornea of Lot 4 VARNS .ACRES; thence S 00421W to the Northwestcorner of said Lot 4 VARNS ACRES; thence South along the West line of said Lot 4 VARNS ACRES to the Southwest corner thereof; thence East along a} the South line of said Lot 4 to the Westerly right-of-way line of the Beaverton-Tigard Highway; thence Southeasterly along the westerly line of said Highway right-of-way to a point which bears N89°521E 1076.75 feet and N 0008'W 330 feet from an iron rod marking the Southeast corner of that tract described as Parcel 1 in that certain mortgage to the Bank of California recorded June 9, 1964 in ;Mortgage Book 503 at page k' 452; thence Westerly parallel to the South line of said SE1/4 of Section 1 along the North line of tract described as Parcel 1 in deed from Joseph K. Fought et ux to Georgia-Pacific Corporation as recorded in Book 520 at page 369 Washington County, Oregon Deed Records, to the Northwest corner of said Georgia-Pacific tract; thence South along the West line of said Georgia-Pacific tract 330 feet to a point marked by an iron rod at the Southeast corner of Parcel 1. as described in mortgage to the Bank of California as recorded in Mortgage s Book 503 page 452; thence S89052'E parallel to and 40 feet North of the South line of said SE1/4 of Sec. 1 to the center- line of S. W 72nd Avenue (Co.Rd.245); thence Southeasterly along the centerline of said S.W.72nd Ave.(Co.Rd.245) to the point of beginning. Section 5: Inasmuch as the hearing or the petition "ur arinrxaiBSosa of the lands herein described should be conductea with the least possible delay, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and it is declared to. be necessary for the peace, health and safety of the City of Tigard that this ordinance become effeaL ive upon its £F passage by. the Council and signature by the Mayor. _ PASSED: By the Council, by unanimous vote of all Council members present, after being read three times by number and title only, this 10 day of 'ADril 1967.
