ORDINANCE No. 66 - 29
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING CHAPTER VIII (Parking
Regulations) OF ORDINANCE No.66-20 TO RESTRICT PARKING ON S.W.HIGHWAY
217 NEAR TIIE TIGARD SHOPPING PLAZA
WHEREAS, the attention of the City Council of Tigard has been
drawn to the need for limiting parking as hereinafter set forth dur-
ing the hours of 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays
within the West half of Highway 217 andwithin the area hereinafter
more particularly described; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find it reasonable and neces-
sary in the public interest that parking in the area hereinafter
defined and delineated be regulated as hereinafter set forth,
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 11 That Ordinanne #66-20 be, and the same is, heresy
amended and supplemented to add to Chapter VIII (Park-
ing Regulations) , a new sub-paragraph denoted Section 7-B, reading
as follows:
"Section 7-B: No person shall park or leave standing
a vehicle of any kind or character, whether motoriz ed
or not, on the Westerly side of S.W.Highway 217 from
the curb-cut for the North entrance to the Tigard Shop-
ping Plaza near the Northeast corner of the Safeway store,
southerly to the curb-cut for the entrance to the Tigard
Shopping Plaza near the Southeast corner of the Safeway
store, between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 6:OO p.m., on
Mondays through Fridays."
Section 2: Inasmuch as it is necessary and in the best interests
of the public, and for the peace, health and safety of
the people of Tigard, Oregon that the provisions of this ordinance
be placed in full force and effect with the least possible delay,
an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance shall
be effective upon its passage by the City Council and approval by
the Mayor.
PASSED: By the Council, by unanimous vote of all members present,
after being read three times by title only, this 11th
day of July , 1966.
