` AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING FORM OF NOMINATING PETITION FOR
ELECTIVE OFFICES OF THE CITY OF TIGARD.
WHEREAS, Section 31 of the charter of the city of Tigard,
Oregon, reads in pertinent part as follows:
"Section 31. NOMINATIONS. A qualified elector who

tive city position as provided in Section 12. Nomination
shall be by petition specifying the position sought in a
form prescribed by the council."
and
WHEREAS, the form of nominating petitionbas not heretofore
been prescribed by the city council of the c'.ty of Tigard;
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the form of nominating petition for all candidates
or a ect ve positions within the city of Tigard shall substan-
tially conform to the wording and makeup appearing on the attached
form entitled "Nominating Petition, City of Tigard, Oregon"
hereby denoted "Exhibit A" and by reference herein made a part
hereof to the same legal force and effect as if set forth herein
in full.
Section 2: That the City Recorder be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to furnish upon request to any elector
of the city of Tigard forms of nominating petition conforming
to "Exhibit a" for use in the nomination of a candidate or candi-
dates for any elective city position.
Section 3: That inasmuch as requirements and procedure for the
nomination of candidates for elective positions in the
city of Tigard is of great importance to the well=being of the
people of the city of Tigard, it is therefore necessary for the
peace, health .and safety of the city of Tigard that this ordinance
become effective with the least possible delay, and an emergency
is hereby declared and this ordinance shall become effective upon
its passage by the city council and approval by the mayor.
