AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING Section 21-A
(Parking Regulations) of TRAFFIC ORDINANCE NUMBERED 63-15, TO
PROHIBIT PARKING NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF S. W. 1'xKENZIE STREET
AND S. W. PACIFIC HIGHWAY (99W)
® WW;REAS, the attention of the City C._-=cil of Ti.Sard has
been directed to the conditions existing at the intersection of
S. W. McKenzie Street with S. W. Pacific Highway (99W) with respect
to the hazards arising from the parking of vehicles along the
Northwesterly curbline of S. W. Pacific Highway a�ju also within the
area reserved for parking on private property on the Northeasteriy
corner of said intersection, and the inability of drivers of motor
vehicles approaching said intersection on S.W.Pacific Htghway and
drivers attempting to enter S.W.Pacific Highway from S. W. McKenzie
Street to malutain a proper lookout for such intersecting traffic;
WHEREAS, the State of Oregon Highway Department has made a
survey of traffic conditions at said intersection and has deter-
mined that it is advisable from the standpoint of public safety
that pa.:king-of motor vehicles be prohibited:
(a) Within .25- feet Northeasterly of the inter-
section of the NorttReasterly line of S. W. McKenzie and
the Northwesterly line of S. W. Pacific Highway
(b) Within .1-S' feet Southwesterly of the inter-
section of the Sou—Mesterly line of S.W.McKenzie Street
and the Northwesterly line of S. W. Pacific.Highway;
WHEREAS, the City Council of Tigard does hereby find that it
is reasonable and necessary, in the public interest, and based upon
proper consideration of the public safety and the primary right of
the public to the use of streets for safe travel, that parking be
prohibited as hereinafter ordained;
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section l That Section 21-A (Parking Regulations) of Ordinance
No. 63-15,-be, and the same is hereby, amended and
supplemented to add to said Section 21-A: Par`icing Regulations,
sub-sections (8) and (9), to read as follows.
(8) No person shall park a motor vehicle of any kind
or character within the right-of-way of S.W.Pacific

(9) No person shall park a motor vehicle of any kind or
character within the right-of-way of S. W. Pacific
Highway, along the Northwesterly line thereof,
within 2S feet Southwesterly of the intersection
of the �westerl r+.ght-of-way line of S. W.
McKenzie Street with the Northwesterly right-of-way
line of S. W. Pacific Highway.
Section 2: This ordinance shall be effective on and after the
31st day after its enactment by theCity Council of
Tigard:
