The City of Tigard Building Division has reviewed the submitted building plans for the above
referenced address in accordance with the Oregon Structural Specialty Code (OSSC), 1998
edition and the Uniform Fire Code, 1997 edition as amended by Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.
Code Review: Ashram V -N rated, 20+ yards, Congregate residence.
The following items need to be addressed:
1) Sprinklers are required
2) Group R occupancies shall be Accessible: All public and common use areas, site
access to and with -in the structure, restroom facilities, recreational facilities, laundry
room, restrooms, mailboxes, lobbies, foyers and Management offices.
3) A minimum of one guestroom on the main floor shall be made accessible, this will
include door clearences, bathing facility, toilet compartments, visual and audible
alarms.
4) Building is required to have smoke detectors installed.
5) Attic access is required to be 22 "x30" minimum.
6) Attic ventilation is required, currently the plans show gable end vents with draft stops
at all guestrooms blocking the vents.
7) Guardrails shall be in compliance with section 509.
8) Provide calculations for wind and seismic loading.
9) Provide engineered calculations on the steel beams and welding specifications for
structural welds.
10) Provide calculations on the floor joist.
11)Provide energy code forms showing compliance.
12) Exit signage and illumination are require

Condition #11 (ODOT ROW dedication for Hall)
Condition #14 (Pay fee in -lieu of undergrounding = $880.00)
Due to the items identified as noted above the plan review has been terminated, until thg, items
have been properly addressed. In no way should this partial review be considered as a complete
review.
Please submit revised plans showing compliance with codes.
