Subject: Greenburg Rd. Duplex for Pathfinders
Loraine;
Per our phone call on Tuesday June 26th, and subsequent call with Dad of Pathfinders, we have decided
upon the following system:
Plumbing in the common wall shall be of fire rated construction. Piping within the wall and penetrations
into the firewall shall be of steel, ferrous, or copper pipes or steel conduits. Penetrations in the wall
membrane shall be protected with a 2 -hr fire - resistance rated material. (R317.3 ff).
Stud bays that contain plumbing shall be backed on the air space side with one layer of 5/8" type -x
gypsum board. Where two such stud bays back to each other, 1" of air space shall be maintained
between the gypsum board. (Fig. AO13.7.3.6, diagram B).
