We have reviewed your email with Albert Shields regarding the sewer lateral at the above
mentioned address. All materials installed from the connection at the lateral stubbed out
of the manhole to the connection point 10 feet from the residence is 4" 3034 PVC. A
scale as -built drawing of the sanitary line installation is an attachment to this letter.
Approximately 85' of 4" pipe was installed at a 2% grade from the end of the existing
lateral to the connection point at the residence, 3 each 45 degree bends were installed per
the drawing, and one cleanout assembly. Pipework was all bedded and precovered with
minus gravel prior to backfilling.
We understand that the City's jobsite civil inspector witnessed the installation of the
sewer hook -up and we are aware the rules require a plumbing inspector verify such an
installation, Bones Construction has been in business 35 years making these type of pipe
hook -ups. Somehow between our site manager and the install crew we missed making the
appropriate call for inspection. I am seriously embarrassed as well sincerely apologize for
the error on the part of our company.
Bones will be more than happy to test the sewer line via water test or air test whichever
the plumbing dept would see fit. We can meet onsite and expose areas as determined by
the plumbing dept to whatever degree will give them the comfort needed to resolve this
problem. Again, I apologize for the mistake made on behalf of Bones Construction, and
will rernediate the issue at our earliest possibility.
